JOB TITLE: Channel Development Executive (Trade Capabilities: MD & New Channels)

ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

Develop Trade capabilities tools for Commercial Organization in the areas of Route to Consumer, Shopper Experience and Customer Management, across conventional and new channels, to secure future business growth potential and dominance of BAT brands.These are reinforced through people’s capabilities and systems. Lead the analysis and support developmentof the Route to Market model or Trade capabilities tools in the local context to ensure it is fit to meet business objectives.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute into development and implementation of commercial strategies and plans for existing & new channels which are in line with Korea Commercial SLA, Area and Global strategies to achieve business growth for multi-category business
  • Develop tools and processes to improve Trade Capabilities in the areas of (1) assortment planning & planogramming, (2) merchandising materials development, (3) B2B2C activation, (4) RTM coverage, (5) field force operations & trade marketing execution, (6) customer trading terms and conditions, (7) customer loyalty program,– in line with Global Framework
  • Pilot the new tools to conclude on the recommendation for roll-out
  • Lead X-Functional team and external partners to ensure the initiatives are planned and delivered on time and in full
  • Track and explore emerging channels continuously; together with Channel Manager contribute into strategy development and implement robust plan to drive BAT performance in those channels
  • Specific accountabilities for two workstreams:

Merchandising solutions & New channels

Trade Capabilities

Develop future-fit Multicategory merchandising solutions for end-market in cooperation with Global / Above-market teams

In cooperation with Global / Above-market teams develop tools to improve end-market trade capabilities in key priorities areas:

  • Route to consumer: Field force management;
  • Shopper experience: Assortment management & Touchpoints maximization;
  • Customer management: Digital Compliance, TT&C

Prepared analysis of new channels potential, including own retail, independent retail, key accounts, online marketplaces

Contribute into development of operating model to penetrate new channels; develop the tools and processes to activate new channels on time in full and pilot the route-to-consumer plan

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

Experience Required

  • A seasoned professional in TM&D, with at least 5 years of successful career progression in national or multi-national environment across Commercial, TM&D & Consumer Experience functions

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Analytical skills, ability to translate consumer/customer data into customer & consumer insights
  • TM&D expertise required in the areas of (1) cross-category assortment planning & planogramming; (2) merchandising materials development (3) B2B2C touchpoints activation
  • Knowledge and expertise of the distribution environment and world-class route to market/distribution practices preferably obtained though work in FMCGs with direct distribution business model
  • Experience in implementation of B2B2C Channel strategies for offline & online channels (KA, own E-commerce, Independent retail)
  • Understanding of company corporate strategy, experience in operating with global TM&D guidelines
  • Cross-functional project management is a plus
  • Effective communication, presentation, and influencing skills, fluency in English
