BAT TURKEY IS LOOKING FOR A SECURITY EXECUTIVE

Reports to: Head of Security

Function: Security 

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

Provide coordinated and comprehensive security services to the factory, ensuring that threats to
business operations/activities, company personnel and company assets are properly identified,
evaluated and dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

Geographic Scope: Samsun

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Technical Skills

• SECURITY REVIEWS

• Conduct inspections and reviews as necessary.
• Provide input and advice for the development, review and updating of specific measures to deal with primary distribution chain.

• INVESTIGATIVE SKILLS

• Conduct any security inquiry, investigation, and survey/review in relation to any aspect of security that may be necessary as assigned.

• INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT

• Demonstrate full compliance with Group Information Security Standards and Local Policy and Procedures.
• Conduct Info Sec Threat Assessment and Implement Info Sec Awareness Activities across the Ops side.

• ASSETS AND PERSONNEL SECURITY
  Advise on an ongoing basis on:

• The general security measures at the factory.
• Specific threats to company personnel, assets and information and business operations/activities; dealing with situations as soon as these are known

• The implementation of Security Policy, Common Platforms, ‘Best Practice’ and Guidance Notes received from Globe House and Head of Area Security Develop and maintain professional standards and effectiveness of all subordinate security staff,
  contractors, consultants, and primary distribution chain personnel as necessary.
  Contribute to the Co.’s achievement of EH&S targets by creating an EH&S culture in his/her team and complying with integrated EH&S waste management system.
• Ensure that all security measures are applied for vehicles according to BAT procedures.
• Provide necessary security support and advice to international staff/visitors to the factory.

• SECURITY INTELLIGENCE AND LIAISON

• Establish close and effective relations with local Police, Military and other government agencies and Security Heads of other international and local companies in Turkey.

• BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT

• Establish, update and review Ops Contingency and Business Continuity Plans periodically and adapt to the factory by liaising with the Cluster Head of Security Manager.

• ANTI ILICIT TRADE ACTIVITY

• Demonstrate a general understanding of company policy on combating illicit trade, including the role of the Security Function with full support to AIT Team and request from the other areas and region.

• SECURITY RISK MANAGEMENT

• Provide guidance to management on appropriate security measures to ensure that standards are maintained consistent with actual or potential threat levels.
• Conduct annual risk assessment pack across the Ops sites in line with the Risk Management Manual.
  

Business Skills

• REPORT WRITING

• Ensure that all security reports, in standard format, are submitted monthly to the Cluster Security Manager

• CHANGE MANAGEMENT

• Understand impacts of actions in relation to the business. Act within guidelines to deal with issues.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

• Close cooperation with the Cluster Security Manager regarding security policies and applications.
• Participate into the Security Committee Meetings as required.
• Develop and conduct a comprehensive security training program for employee security awareness.
• Prepare and implement induction programs for new employee.
• Manage contractor relationship effectively.

• FINANCIAL AWARENESS

• Prepare and submit cost effective budget in timely manner.
• Compile and effectively manage agreed budgets.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

• Understand the threats and the mitigation measures required to protect company personnel and assets
  to meet local security requirements.
•  University degree
• Be a mature individual with a broad experience in corporate security management.
•  Possess good communication skills in Turkish and English.
•  Able to promptly communicate accurate information resulting from security issues.
•  Be capable of obtaining information from a variety of sources and be able to collate detail on all
  threats or potential threats to the company.
•  Understand and can develop liaison relationships.
•  Being capable of issuing clear written and oral orders.
• Have a detailed knowledge of all aspects of physical and electronic security.
•  Keep abreast of current trends in the security industry.
•  Have a detailed understanding of security risk management and assessment.
•  Understand the methods that could be used in perpetrating criminal acts, including fraud, against the
  company and its personnel.
•  Understand the legal framework in which the company operates and the Standards of Business Conduct
  (SOBC). Be able to prepare, conduct and record interviews effectively.
•  Understand the content and location of security records.
•  Have a detailed understanding of Information Security, including physical, digital, and other forms of
  information and information systems and Records Management Policy.
•  Provide advice and apply mitigating controls.
•  Understand the Business Continuity Management process.
•  Understand Crisis Management and Disaster Recovery requirements and implementation of local
  tactical responses.
•  Represent the Security Function in training / testing exercises.
•  Demonstrate a general knowledge and understanding of company policy on combating illicit trade, including the role of the Security Function.

Key Success Factors

•  Understand the potential threat to employees, assets, information, installations and business
  operations generally.
•  Ensure that the performance of the contracted guard force, consultants and contractors are effectively
  monitored and that their performance is of a high standard and in accordance with British American
  Tobacco’s standards of operation.
•  Provide accurate and concise reports, including those required by the Head of Area Security, and take
  any agreed action effectively and in a timely manner.
•  Ensure the integrity of all locations and ensure that no products or other company assets/property are
  illegally removed from the ownership of British American Tobacco Turkey.
•  Ensure the Security operations of the company operate with agreed budgets.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Close contact with the Operations Director.
• Close contact with the Head of Area Security.
• Close contact with the Area Supply Chain Security Manager.
• Close and effective relations with local Police, Military and other government agencies and Security Heads of other international and local companies in Turkey.
• Thorough knowledge of local security industry, alarm and guarding companies.
• This is a very challenging role and offers a significant career with an important multinational company in Turkey. The Operations Security Manager will be expected to meet the demands involved in developing the function and this will entail working extended hours from time to time.
